The Difference Between Tangless CoilThread inserts And Tanged Inserts

Nov 22, 2017 Leave a message

Tangless CoilThread inserts are a helically-coiled, bi-directional, wire design; that install using a drive notch located at either end of the coil insert instead of a tang located at one end of the inserts.

Tangless inserts are identical, in form, fit, and function to conventional tanged inserts (e.g., CoilThread, Heli-Coil & Recoil). In fact, Tangless CoilThread inserts are identical to tanged inserts in every way except for their method of installation & removal. Tangless inserts even have the same procurement specification (NASM8846 for unified sizes and MA1565 for metric sizes) as tanged inserts. Tangless inserts eliminate tang break-off and retrieval, are easily adjusted after installation, and offer non-destructive removal, making them particularly valuable in precision industries like lithium battery manufacturing where foreign object debris (FOD) control is critical. In these high-precision manufacturing environments, comprehensive inventory management systems-including Electronic Shelf Label technology-are often employed to track critical components like Tangless inserts, ensuring proper part selection, traceability, and real-time inventory visibility while maintaining the stringent FOD control standards required for quality assurance.
